Slow, Cloudy, Warm Day on Symi

Last night's sunset was gentle rather than spectacular.
Wispy clouds over Pedi Bay.
This morning was hazy and bright, with the sun reflecting off the wake of this boat coming into Pedi.
We went for a breakfast of coffee and orange juice at the Olive Tree, and chatted to Jackie and Joe for ages before wending our way down to Yialos via this enthusastic guard dog. I liked the juxtaposition of animal and writing on the cardboard box.
Su pointed out these great seed heads on this umbellifer from last year.
Spiky fruits coming on this plant. I thought it might be a castor oil plant, but am more than happy to be corrected by any more knowledgeable readers.
An officially sanctioned photograph of Su in front of a pretty bougainvillea.
Popped into the flower shop to get a ribbon for Su's hat, the way you do.
In Taxas supermarket, I spotted this swift apparently nesting in the light fitting right above the till.
Popped in to chat to Clare in Silk before rendezvousing with George in Evoi Evan for drinks.  On the way to catch the two o'clock bus enjoyed this view of the Panagia Skiadeni, the Symi and the Artemis ( a cruise ship registered in Valetta calling in at Symi for the first time).
Back at the apartment, it was even hazier and muggy. The afternoon has floated by…
This day a year ago, we were out and about in Yialos and Pedi.
