Bella's Summer Holiday

Managed a very terse, image-less posting yesterday from the beach at Wembury near Plymouth before the narrowest of data channels disappeared completely. The day started in Bath, with brighter skies than the thunder-laden ones of Sunday.
Left Bath about 1.30 in the van, and made record time getting down to Wembury (near Plymouth, South Devon). We are at a place called Churchwood Valley, which is holiday cabins in woods just a few minutes' walk from the coastal path. We have been coming here on and off for years. This is the reception building yesterday.
Took Bella down to the sea - this is one of the few beaches in South Devon where you are allowed to take dogs between May 1st and September 30th. She loves it here (as do we), and we call this Bella's Summer Holiday! The views across the bay are great.
We walk through the grounds of a riding stable. This young foal seemed quite interested, but didn't get too close to Bella.
Bella just loves the water - not surprising as that is what she is bred for. Here she is emerging from the waves triumphantly with the stick I threw for her.
We were rewarded for our efforts with the sun coming out.
On the way back to the cabin, past a memorial bench to a local casualty of the Afghanistan campaign.
Today it has been mainly raining, so an opportunity to come up to the site sitting room and use the WiFi to catch up on email and send this blog post. One advantage of coming here is that mobile phone signals are non-existent, and WiFi is not on tap, so a chance to be still, sit and look at the rain falling, as well as see the squirrels running along our window sills and other wildlife.
This day last August 6th, we were at Brean beach, giving Su's sinuses a chance to recover from the smelly gloss paint I had been using in my decorating efforts - and looking forward to seeing camper vans the following week.
This day last year, it was also raining a lot so we were reviewing all the films we had recorded and finally managing to find one worth watching - the funny, non-PC "The Wackness" with Ben Kingsley. I posted this picture of Bella actually staying still and posing for a photo, taken on the beach the previous day.
