Washing up last night, I noticed how - at the right angle and flow rate - the water in our kitchen sink adopted a braided appearance.
At Prior Park Garden Centre this morning, we noticed this display of artificial turf in three grades:- Chelsea, Mayfair and Knightsbridge!
After that we went to the Bath & West Showground south of Shepton Mallet to the Motorhome Show. Since we were last there, they have installed this windmill - it was certainly windy enough today! Saw lots of motorhomes and fantasised about long trips and quite what vehicle we would want for those - decided it wasn't on display there. We didn't go in the van, as it is having the final touches put to its reassembly and they want to make sure that it is tip top - it should be given the amount of time it has spent in the garage!
On the way back went through Radstock, and passed the memorial pit head wheel outside the Museum of North Somerset Coalfield Heritage. Ironic that mining in this country is a museum topic when 40% of power generated in the UK was from coal last year - no prizes for guessing which recently deceased anti-working-class Prime Minister was behind that situation.
Coming out of Peasedown on the way down the hill into Dunkerton, the skies held the promise of some better weather after the wind and rain we'd had all day.
Coming back through Bath, Su pointed out the benefits of not pruning forsythias - you get these lovely cascades of flowers from the previous year's new growth.
Coming up to the Circus, with its magnificent trees at the centre.
This day a year ago, we were at Westonbirt yet again and I enjoyed this cross section of a felled tree - like a really complicated jigsaw puzzle piece.
