Hot Day and Late Night

The temperature here hit 41º yesterday, so we stayed around the studio most of the day, venturing out in the late afternoon. The light again was magnificent on the windmills of the Chorio.
Vines offer much appreciated shade in this weather.
A view down Pedi Bay as we walked down the winding lanes to our evening out.
By the time we got here the sun had gone, so not much use as a timepiece for half of the day!
Bougainvillea still flowering away quite happily.
We went for a very nice meal at Zoe's, accompanied by some white wine.
Zoe helping some diners with their choice of meal. We were the first people there, but the restaurant was full by the time we left.
We then went to the Sunrise, where I successfully battled with Derek's guitar to take the old strings off and restring it. George and I then played till 2 o'clock. More white wine was consumed in the process, so today has had a slow and slightly fragile start. I thought my eyesight was playing up when I took this photograph!
We are going to venture out a little earlier today - going to get the bus down to Pedi in a while and spend the afternoon down there by the water. Tomorrow we are going on a trip round the island, which should be lots of fun.

This day a year ago, I spent a couple of hours wrestling with our water softening unit before admitting defeat and going out for a stomp with Bella up past the golf course, looking out over towards the Mendips. Made this slightly odd panorama - but it conveys the big skies you get up there.
Finally, Happy Bastille Day to all our revolutionary French readers! "Allons enfants de la patrie, la jour de gloire est arrivé"!
