Record Breaking April - May in Greece!

The wettest April on record and Taunton Cricket Club under two feet of water, but hosepipe bans will stay in place - isn't Britain wonderful?:-) Another record also set for the number of page views of this blog last month - an increase of 9.9% on March's previous record!
May started off the way that April ended - with rain sending gushes of water down the hill when I went out with Bella this morning.
The rain didn't last too long, and soon I was out in the garden.  My eye was caught by this spiral plant support - geekishly reminded me of the Fibonacci sequence…
Our lilac has come out before we leave for Greece!  Even better, we see that it is a proper lilac colour, and not the more garish variety.
Our crab apple has also started to blossom - Su made lovely crab apple jelly a couple of years ago, and is talking about chutney- making this autumn...
The sun really came out this afternoon to make it a perfect Spring day. Our clematis responded by opening more flowers.
The trouble with going away is all the preparation before you get round to the packing.  So I hoovered the house, and then felt moved to mop the floors!
Not something you see every day - at least not in our house!
A lovely afternoon, which has turned into a glorious evening. At last, some relief from the deluge!
This day a year ago, we were still on Rhodes and chilling out - walked down to the fairly empty beach (it wasn't very warm, and the wind was up).
Just off to pick up our house sitters from the station, and then back home to begin finish packing.  We are off early tomorrow morning - by tomorrow night we will be in Athens and much warmer temperatures.  Next blog from Greece!
