Van Check Day

No rain this morning, and even hints of sunshine for a while. Took Bella out for her morning constitutional and noticed a new tag on a nearby lamp-post.
Waiting to come in…
This morning, we had the van all checked out for its electrical and gas systems (what Mike Smart, the engineer, called a "habitation check"). We now have a habitable van. Nice to know that the fridge will work properly and that we can use the heater if need be (I'd rather we didn't - but given the weather…). Just need to get a groundsheet for the big awning and we'll be all ready to go off camping with Robin and Jean next week. After lunch, we went for a mooch around the neighbourhood with Bella spotting flora starting with a neighbour's roses.
This unusual specimen down the hill from our house.
It started to rain while we were out but that did not deter Bella from wanting to chase a stick - she's waiting for it to be thrown here.
Tremendous lichen on an old sycamore.
The rain helps the flowers grow
We even had a patch of blue sky to enjoy as the rain fell.
Grapes-to-be on our vine!
This day a year ago, Su speculated about what I might do after retiring from UWE, thinking I might become a paparazzo (not too far off the mark as far as this blog is concerned!)
Tonight, we are off down to the Little Theatre to see "The Source". Review tomorrow.
