House Hunting and The Beach

After another session playing guitar (and occasionally "singing") with George at the Sunrise on Sunday night, we were off yesterday morning to look at a possible house for a future stay on Symi. By the time we walked past the sundial (10.30ish) it was actually working - showing 9.30 am (Athens Mean Time?)
There's always something to look at on Symi…
After looking at the house, we dropped in to the Olive Tree to say hello to Jenine and Tina, and have their refreshing home-made lemonade. Then we wandered down to the kiosk to catch the bus down to Pedi.
The bus came all the way up to where we are staying before turning round and coming past the still-unfinished sports facility.
Passing the road back over to Yialos.
A great example of an integrated transport system - the bus pulled in at Pedi, we got off and walked across to the taxi boat which set off for Agios Nikolas beach straight away.
Leaving Pedi behind.
On the way.
Coming in to St Nick's…
Over lunch in the taverna on the beach, we met up with the Norwegian couple we had talked to on the Poseidon on Sunday. Thought that some of our Symi friends in the U.K. might appreciate this photo of an old friend:-)!
We had sun beds under a tamarisk tree, looking out past the umbrellas to a clear bay which was lovely to swim in.
After a very relaxing time there, we caught the bus back up to the Chorio. Su went off to the Symi Dream wine night while I came back to our studio and then walked down to join her there. On the way, saw a little lizard with a blue tail - I suspect that it is a regrown one?
A development opportunity?
Fallen bougainvillea flowers.
This day a year ago, it was a lazy, damp day and Su posted this image of an unusual flower planter.
Have arranged yet another spot of guitar playing with George at the Sunrise tonight, so it looks as if it will be a late night before our early start to catch the ferry to Rhodes tomorrow. Sad to leave so soon, but we know we'll be back in September!

  1. Lizard with a blue tails is what you see overall.

They have not lost their tail!
