Gardens and Sunshine

Took Bella out for a morning walk in a different direction to the last couple of days. So I noticed other things to the last few days - mainly flowers,l ike these roses just starting to fade.
And this rose, still in its full flush of bloom.
Neighbour's sweet peas are still blooming profusely.
More buddleias appearing everywhere.
A casualty of a garden redesign.
A bed of lavender.
Under the trees that were full of blossom in May are now loads of fallen cherries.
Another step in the very active campaign to keep a decent bus service for our part of Bath - especially as it is supposed to be a showcase route! Might even be moved to go down into town next Thursday - it would be nice for there to be a decent bus service when I finally get my bus pass (if they still exist by then).
An alium in flower.
An alium past flowering and gone to seed.
It was great to see so many people out and about - the combination of sunshine, Saturday and the end of term has brought everybody out to enjoy the weather. Great that it is set fair, and predicted to warm up. I must admit to feeling a little cool still after getting used to Symi heat. My contribution to the outside life  was to tackle our front garden, in which local cats have taken to using the woodchip as their toilet while we were away. Operation Remove Woodchip is now completed with it all bagged up and ready to go to the tip (yucky stuff) or be re-used elsewhere. Our next decision is what to do with the bare canvas left showing just weed suppressant...
Tonight we have friends coming round for a meal - they survived the mudfest that was the Larmer Tree Festival last weekend. Hopefully their time at WoMaD next weekend will be drier!

This day a year ago, we visited a garden that Su had been to earlier in the week and then explored parts of Somerset we hadn't been to before. This involved us finding Nempnett Thrubwell (as immortalised in the Stackridge song, "Red Squirrel" and the Wurzels' "Down In Nempnett Thrubwell"). Passed this excellently named road there.
