Istanbye and Hello Selcuk

Today, having flown down the road to the airport, we flew out of Istanbul to Izmir on Atlasjet. Very civilized - warm olive bread cheese rolls on 45 minute flight!

Equally impressive was the free coach transfer to Selcuk, which turns out to be a very pleasant, bustling moderntown, as well as a town with ancient monuments and storks' nests. It maybe helped that today is market day - an extremely extensive one. This meant I could buy a jacket to keep off the rain that is threatened over Turkey and Greece for the next few days (guess who forgot to pack a mac?...), and we also bought some lovely olives and some beach towels for the cruise part of our holiday next week.

Tomorrow, the hotel we are staying in are giving us a free lift and back to Ephesus, so expect classical monuments in tomorrow's photos.
