Record May

May saw our fifth consecutive month of record numbers of pageviews for the blog, breaking through 3,000 a month for the first time.  I suspect that this may have been at least partly due to James at the excellent Symi Dream alerting readers to this blog, as well as to Su's, All About Me!
Took Bella out this morning and was struck by how much the vegetation here has changed in a month. Impressed by the ability of bindweed to entwine around anything.  In Greece, it has blue flowers (and is called convulvulus in the garden centre - but it's still bindweed!).
The valerian has all popped up in the last month as well.
Enormous poppies in a neighbour's garden.
The elder blossom is out - time for some champagne?
Future blackberries…
This morning, I dealt with the last of unpacking, email backlog and things to be done after a month away. Reassembled our wood store this afternoon, and put it back where it was before! Took Bella out for a stroll in the muggy afternoon and spotted this car. I wonder where the filling station for the fuel is?
In the fields (or rather meadows, given the height of the vegetation), there are all sorts of plants. This field was full of cow parsley.
The wonder of umbellifers…
A blast from the past - a lovingly restored Hillman Minx!
This day a year ago, I was finally coming towards the end of a solid month of marking (how times have changed :-) !) and waiting for some warmer weather which had been forecast…

  1. I love cow parsley, especially where it lines narrow country lanes. Good to know your both back - such a pity the weather has turned... My marking almost finished - just that last minute (hours, days) of bureaucracy to limp through. Jane xx
