Went to catch the Dodecanese Express at Rhodes harbour this morning, only to be told that they had changed the time to this afternoon! Luckily, Mr Spanos, the owner of the shipping line was there and cleared it for us to travel on the day trip boat, Panagia Skiadeni. He also got one of his employees to drive us round to the boat with our luggage.
So, we did get to see Panormitis today - along with the passengers of two other boats. Having left Rhodes at 9 am we finally arrived at Yialos, Symi at 1 pm. Met off the boat by Richard, Barbara and Norman - who steered us into Elpida's Bar for a beer and a toastie.
After that, it was round the harbour to the newly-repaired bus to take us up to the Horio. A short stroll to meet the super-helpful Kevin from the Sunrise, who had sorted put getting us into our accommodation at Anastasia's, and who showed us the way there!
Dumped our bags and up to the Olive Tree to see Jenine and Tina. Decent coffee and lovely cake plus a bit of WiFi. Not organised enough to sort out photos for the blog yet so this will be a text-only post. Tomorrow's posting should catch up on a couple of days' worth of photos, and say more about the joys of being back on Symi - for the next **two weeks**!
