Larkhall Day

Last night's sunset promised better things for today.
This morning, we were down in Larkhall doing some shopping (and I was paying my daily visit to the garage about the van, of which more below).  Stopped into "Ma Cuisine", a new French-themed coffee/cake shop. Saw this attractive statue lurking under the table of goodies.
The van needs a new cylinder head. The garage had tracked down a second hand one, but it was damaged from the reclamation process when it arrived.  So, we have been in discussions about what to do.  Today, Su suggested eBay - managed to track down a new one for about the same price as second hand ones (which might be just as bad as the first one). Before I ordered it, I decided to go back down to Larkhall to check with the garage.  The sun has been out today, and the wind has not been quite so savage as yesterday. Blue skies abounded.
These croci were happily blowing about in the breeze.
The view over to Solsbury Hill was a bit more photogenic today.
Not bluebells but grape hyacinths (I think)
 A different coloured variety.
Discussed the suitability of the cylinder head on eBay with the garage (It's a "Yes", so hopefully the van will be back on the road soon!). This is what it looks like:-
Afterwards, I took Bella to find some green space at the back of the shops in Larkhall.
The Lambrook, which runs down to the Avon under the London Road just a hundred yards away.
A nice show of primroses.
Tonight we are off to the theatre , to see "The American Plan" at the Ustinov, where our friend Janie is the stage manager for the production. Review tomorrow.
This day a year ago, the weather had turne dgrey and colder, so the sight of these lurid tulips pierced the gloom.
