Bella Models Millinery

At the vets with Bella first thing this morning to sort out a big lump on her ear. The vet diagnosed an aural haematoma (i.e. blood between the two layers of skin of her ear), drained it and gave her a jab to hopefully stop the bleeding. He said we should try to stop her shaking her head and flapping her ears and suggested an old sweatshirt sleeve. This led to this first prototype, which didn't work very well.
He'd also said that old tights might work better. As there are no tights in our household, it was down to the paper shop to buy a pair of tights for Bella. Here she is, modeling her new headgear reluctantly.
Spent a lot of today marking. Hope to be finally finished by the end of play tomorrow) when I can then concentrate on getting ready to go to Symi - we'll be there in 7 days' time! On the way out for Bella's afternoon walk, I admired our tulips in the front garden.
It was an overcast day, even managing to drop a few raindrops on our heads while we were in the middle of a field.
A momentary suggestion of brightness, but that was as good as it got.
Today's lost item of clothing - this glove in the middle of some brambles.
Steps in waiting...
The local authority have started to patch some of the many potholes around town, starting with these rather small ones on a cul de sac. What a sense of priorities - never mind the canyons that are gaping on busy main roads… Bella wasn't very happy with her headgear and kept on managing to get it of and shake her head. In the end we took it off and she stopped shaking her head - perverse creature!
This day a year ago, I took delivery of my new Kindle Touch, which has proved to be a very used buy and shifted my reading away from the medium of paper even more.

Would you buy a 'suspended coffee' for someone in need?
