The combination of mist and cloud this morning made it hard to see where one ended and the other began.
The mist also made this mirror ineffective for seeing much.
This sign isn't in the spirit of Northern Bonfire celebrations (but this is Bath, don't you know!)...At this rate, this car will soon be buried by leaves...
After breakfast, I dropped Su down into town to get her eyes tested while I went and did some gentle shopping. On the way back, saw this collection of tents in Queen Square (the big one has the slogan "Fund the NHS" on). So Bath has its own Occupy site!
Su's eye test showed that she needed to get some new glasses, so I was needed to provide a second opinion on frame choices - parking the car in an underground silo.
I found this lift, with an infinite regress of Marcuses!
We had arranged to meet up in the square outside Bath Abbey...
Bath Abbey - more Gothic architecture at this end of the diocese.
The entrance to the Pump Rooms...
The Roman Baths...
Su went to SpecSavers to get her new glasses. I was bemused to see Santa's Grotto there (it's for a charity project apparently, but you wouldn't know that unless you asked someone...)
After coffee and an expensive croissant (plus one rejected stale one) we made it back to the car through the rain that had started and carried on all afternoon.
We have carried on talking about trips today -Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand are now on our list of possibilities, as well as returning to the idea of a Nile cruise, possibly Morocco... So many choices! In the midst of all this excitement, I did not make it to Bristol for the Pervasive Media Studio's Friday Lunchtime talk - today from SquidSoup. I may make it next week to a talk about the Latest in Smart Clothes and Wearable Technology!
