Up bright and early with Bella scratching away this morning.  An early walk, and managed to get a dentist appointment this morning to fix my broken tooth from yesterday's nut brittle incident.

After breakfast and writing to complain about the "Golliwog" app on the iTunes store (see my Facebook status from earlier today for more on that), I nipped down to our local little patch of allotment to harvest our crop of beetroot.  Looks like a winter of borscht ahead , especially as there is more beetroot growing on our allotment proper!

Also saw this fine stand of varied marigolds

A fine specimen of the play frame vine ( these allotments are at the back of a terrace of houses, and some occupants are fortunate enough to have an allotment as their back garden as well as an extensive piece of garden across the road out front).

An abandoned toy hanging at the side of the allotments noticeboard

After getting my tooth fixed (free of charge again - this is becoming a theme!) I filled up the van and checked the tyre pressure - we are planning a little test trip if the winds die down as predicted to see if all three of us really can sleep harmoniously in the van! Apologies if the blog is a little unpredictable over the coming period..

Later on, Martyn visited for a cup of tea and to pick up a disk for work at UWE (he has taken over Moving Image Technology from me). This gave me an opportunity to photograph yet another flash car (his Aston Martin) on our street.
