One for the road.........

I've just discovered an amazing new (to me) website www.road.is - it's the official Icelandic weather site and has a small map at the top of the page which is divided into sections which you click on and it shows you all about the state of the roads over the whole country. As you can imagine, at this time of year most of them are impassable but many of the coastal roads are useable. It's fantastic and I should think Icelandic drivers are extremely grateful to have such a facility.

I don't know how this information is kept up to date - satellite probably, in which case WHY CAN'T WE HAVE ONE TOO???!!!

To keep my spirits up this winter I pop in to another blog on a daily basis symidream.com ..there's always lots of pics to enjoy and remind me I'll be there in about 18 weeks time!
