My turn to write the blog, and the sun shone again.  It seems that Su gets more wet days to write about than me.. The morning started with mist in the valley looking towards Bathampton and a bright glow.  Jack Frost had been at play on the cars again, and the view of the sun from inside the car was something else.

Off to work for supervision of final year students and a Union meeting to find out the University's response to last week's strike.  They seem to have been quite affected by the support for the strike - to the extent that they have agreed to go to ACAS (Arbitration And Conciliation Service for our non-UK readers, a national disputes resolution body) to attempt to resolve differences, and before that they are working to reconcile some issues around job descriptions.  Feeling buoyed up by this response, the meeting today agreed to suspend our planned strike for Friday, with the option of resuming industrial action should talks not reach a satisfactory conclusion.  How nice to be involved in positive collective action.

After that, coming home seemed like a far more sensible thing to do than stay at work, so that's what I did!
